getting ready for xmas!

here in cambridge, mass. we had a massive snowstorm just in time for christmas!

Dear Santa letters

i sat down and asked my kids what they wanted Santa to bring them this year, and wrote down their answers word for word... it will be my pleasure to get these things for them. they have been wonderful kids lately.

Dear Santa,
(me: "what do you want from Santa, Lucas?)
Me wants a racetrack and a tomato-drivin' schoolbus video.
(me: have you been a good boy this year?)
yes, and i didn't hit Ruby, no, no, no!

we had some hungarian neighbors this summer, and she had one of her visitors bring me one of these for ten dollars. admittedly at first i thought it was strange, but i just HAD to have one since she offered it! (theyre apparently very common in hungary, its country of origin)... & i don't know how i ever lived without one of these things before! the kids do get a bit scared by the vacuum noise at first, but its so gentle and effective they get used to the idea pretty quickly.

its just so awesome!!!
