sorting fever

now that the seasons are starting to change, i got bit by the sorting and organizing bug.

last weekend i dumped ALL of the kids clothes out on to their bedroom floor (the pile was literally knee-deep in the middle!), and sorted through piece by piece for the right season & size.

and this weekend i did the toys. knee-deep in my living room. the categories: toss & give, rotate in & rotate out. toy rotation is what its all about. i put some toys upstairs so that by the time they come back down they seem new again.

my next project is to sort out the horrible mess that is our entry hallway: the eyesore trip-hazard "shoe rack" (canned laughter), and hang the midseason sweaters and windbreakers on the hooks.
